Custody for long-term equipment lend-outs
Assign an asset to a team member for as long as they need it, and release it when it comes back.
When to use custody
Custody records who holds an item over a long period, such as a laptop issued to an employee. For short, dated loans use a booking instead.
Assign and release
- Assign custody: choose a team member, either a registered user or a non-registered member. The asset status becomes In custody.
- Release custody: the asset becomes Available again.
- An asset has one custodian at a time. Assigning again replaces the previous custodian.
- Bulk assign and bulk release are available from the asset list.
